The Name of Jesus
The name of Jesus is the most precious name that has ever existed. It is the name above all names and the only name by which we can be redeemed and find our path to heaven. The name of Jesus is being pushed out of our culture and even out of some churches today and you will be surprised by what name is pushing the name of Jesus to the side. It is the name or word God. That’s right. The name of Jesus is being replaced by the name or word God. You may be saying that this is no big deal. Well, yes it is. The name of Jesus is vital to Christianity and to the culture we are trying to get saved.
You see, it is only by the name of Jesus that anyone can be saved. Acts 4:12 states that there is no other name written among men under heaven by which we must be saved. This verse is speaking of the name Jesus. The name God does not save us and the reason this word is being used more than Jesus now is because the word God relates to any religion or faith. You can use the name God to refer to Hinduism, Buddhism, Mormonism, Christianity and any other faith or religion. So people feel more comfortable using the word God because no one will be offended when this word is used. The name God is even used by most people running for office and it is usually stated at the end of their speech when they say God bless you or the state they are speaking in and God bless America. The people giving their speech want to be politically correct and not offend anyone and so they leave the name of Jesus out of their speech and the closing of their speech and use the term God. We even see this in a lot of Christian music today.
The name or word God is used or the words Him or He are used, but the name Jesus is not used as much as it used to be. It is vitally important that every Christ follower begin to use and continue to use the name that is above all names and that name is Jesus Christ. We need to pray in His name. We need to witness in His name. We need to praise His name. We need to sing His name. We need to preach His name. We always need to include His name in our conversations. It is only in the name of Jesus that we are healed, delivered, changed and saved. Keep the name of Jesus in the culture, in our home, church, neighborhood and nation. In fact, let’s all say that name now together out loud: JESUS.
